You must understand first that when I started this great adventure in confection there was not a bicycle to be seen. 20 years after my beginnings here the boneshaker arrived and by jove it did indeed shake my bones. One journey down the local lane gave my body a full batty-fang and that was enough for me.
Yet only a few days ago a great Benjo was heard outside the factory window as a Penny Farthing was cycled down the street. “This I must see” so I donned my topper and joined the gaggle outside to see the great new sight. The gentleman on top was thoroughly beside himself. Like a great gent he had the sight as he would from on top of a horse and by all accounts he was in comfort. Well I must say I was impressed! For those without means for horse bound transport but the need to be faster than on foot this would indeed be a fantastic invention and I hope that they continue their work developing this form of transport. It is far removed from the rum boneshaker that could never provide fine and comfortable transport and in such a short span of time too. Whatever next?
Charles’ expressions explained:
Batty Fang – absolute thrashing
Benjo – huge amount of noise made while enjoying oneself)
